
WATERLOO, ON – It may have been déjà vu for loyal BlackBerry customers Wednesday when the smartphone maker introduced its newest device, the BlackBerry Classic.
Billed as “a no-nonsense smartphone built to meet the needs of productive people who appreciate the speed and accuracy that can be found with a physical QWERTY keyboard”, the device is an upgrade to the BlackBerry Bold 9900 that includes a three times faster browser, 60% more screen space, 50% longer battery life, and a greater variety of applications through BlackBerry World and the Amazon Appstore.
"BlackBerry Classic is the powerful communications tool that many BlackBerry Bold and Curve users have been waiting for”, said executive chairman and CEO John Chen, in the news release. “It's the secure device that feels familiar in their hands, with the added performance and agility they need to be competitive in today's busy world."
In other company news, BlackBerry also announced the availability of two new enterprise solutions bundles designed to provide increased productivity and collaboration benefits to enterprises at a reduced cost.
The Secure Productivity bundle, available for $6 USD per user per month, has been designed for organizations using BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 or BES12: a cross-platform EMM solution by BlackBerry that need to protect mission-critical business data while offering employees seamless access to company information on their BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
The Enterprise Communicator bundle, priced at for $12 USD per user per month, extends secure communications and mobile collaboration to iOS, Android and BlackBerry devices enabling employees to be more productive on the go.
Both bundles are available immediately.
