Bite TV awards $10,000 deal in new web series contest

TORONTO – Bite TV has awarded $10,000 to fund a new web series to the winner of its first Bite Comedy Web Series Competition.

Held yesterday at Toronto’s Second Day during Bite TV’s inaugural Web Series Symposium, three finalists were invited to pitch their project in front of a panel of judges to win a development deal with Bite to fund their project.

Dad Drives, pitched by Daniel Beirne and Mark Little, was crowned winner of the competition and awarded a cheque for $10,000. The other finalists included Human Town by Kane Stewart and Kajetan Kwiatkowski, and Kids Show For Adults by Andrew Hunt. “We were really impressed by the incredible talent and caliber of content submitted for the competition,” said Marcia Martin, SVP original content at Blue Ant Media, which owns Bite TV, in a release. “It was a really tough decision. We selected Dad Drives as it aligns well with our Bite brand and audience.”

Bite TV has developed other original web series content  including two seasons of Comedy Bar, Guidance (now in production on a second season), and Andrea Martin Abroad.
