Big brands back Canada’s Drag Race launch on Crave

TORONTO — As Canada’s Drag Race gears up for its premiere Thursday, July 2 on Crave, Bell Media announced today four brand partners who will support the show’s inaugural season. The show will also air on independent broadcaster OUTtv.

The four brands partnering with Canada’s Drag Race are DoorDash Canada, Hilton, Neutrogena and Roots. For more information about how the brands will be integrated into the series, both in-show and through social media and exclusive content, please click here.

“As Canada’s Drag Race readies itself for its big premiere, we are thrilled to be partnering with these incredibly creative brands to bring innovative must-see branded content and initiatives to our audiences across the country,” said Justin Stockman, vice-president of brand partnerships and client strategy for Bell Media, in the news release. “Together with our brand partners we are making ‘herstory’, propelling this inaugural season to become a massive success.”

The Crave Original series will see 12 fierce queens compete to become Canada’s first drag superstar and win the $100,000 grand prize. With Snatch Game, Rumail, the reading challenge, puppets, makeovers and gag-worthy untucked sessions, Canada’s Drag Race serves up fan-favourites from RuPaul’s Drag Race, but with maple-flavoured Canadian realness, says the news release.

Each episode features a panel of expert judges — Brooke Lynn Hytes, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Stacey McKenzie — while Etalk senior correspondent Traci Melchor is Canada’s very first “Squirrel Friend”, making appearances throughout the season.

Previously announced guest hosts include Biddell, Amanda Brugel, Deborah Cox, Elisha Cuthbert, Tom Green, Jade Hassouné, Traci Melchor, Michelle Visage, Mary Walsh and Allie X.

Canada’s Drag Race will premiere on Crave on Thursday, July 2 at 9 p.m. ET. The series will also air in the U.K. on BBC Three, in addition to being available in the U.S. and other select territories on the WOW Presents Plus streaming service.

(The show was announced last year as a collaboration between Bell Media’s Crave and Canada’s LGBTQ+ network OUTtv, and at that time titled Drag Race Canada. It will air on OUTtv in the fall.)
