TORONTO – Bell has launched four new portal channels as part of an upgrade to its popular Sympatico site.
As part of a new three-year agreement with Microsoft, new channels Autos, InMovies.ca, YourMoney.ca and Best Health, a Reader’s Digest publication, debuted this week. Bell also announced that Sympatico.ca and MSN.ca will now operate as separate and distinct portals, and that the address sympatico.msn.ca will be redirected to sympatico.ca.
Sympatico will also leverage the new Microsoft Bing search engine, while continuing to offer Windows Live, Hotmail, and Messenger inventory to Canadian advertisers.
"In our five successful years managing and operating the joint sympatico.msn.ca portal, Bell has seen the Internet advertising industry evolve significantly”, said Kevin Crull, president of Bell’s residential services, in the press release. “It’s clear that creating two distinct portals now allows market expansion by both partners in terms of new online advertising and revenue opportunities."
