Bell to offer real-time data rating via Openet partnership

MONTREAL and DUBLIN – Bell has struck a multi-year partnership with Irish-based software vendor Openet for a slate of microservices designed to enhance the customer experience in preparation for 5G.

Using Openet’s Evolved Charging System, Bell can offer enhanced real-time rating solutions and new capabilities for customer data usage tools and notifications via Openet’s library of charging microservices and open source technology, reads the news release.

“We are very pleased to partner with Openet to develop innovative solutions that can be incorporated quickly into our wireless rating platform,” said Bell’s network strategy VP Petri Lyytikainen, in the release.  “Openet’s suite of microservices will allow us to deliver an enhanced customer experience while future proofing our systems in preparation for 5G deployment.”
