MONTREAL – Bell has become the first operator to adopt iBwave's new FiberPass solution for fibre to the premises network builds in multi-dwelling units (MDUs).
iBwave's said that its FiberPass solution automates the entire process of planning, designing and maintaining an in‑building FTTx network, resulting in significant cost savings per unit and an improved customer experience.
"The efficiency and accuracy of the FiberPass solution has contributed to the rapid expansion of Bell's broadband network and our fast-growing Fibe TV and Internet services," said Bell’s FTTP deployment and access VP Bruce Furlong, in the news release. "Recent software enhancements to FiberPass have helped to further accelerate our inside design cycle as we deliver Canada's fastest Internet and best TV services to customers in apartments and condos across multiple provinces."
iBwave Solutions CEO Claude Echahamian said the two companies began working together over 15 years ago when Bell chose iBwave Design for projects supporting its wireless network.
"At iBwave we see FiberPass as a valuable addition for our customers as well as our roadmap – for us this new solution represents a significant step forward in laying the ground work for a 5G future," he added.
