TORONTO – Future Shop has begun selling Bell Canada’s home security solution, the telco announced today.
Leveraging Bell’s national digital wireless network, Home Monitoring offers consumers an easy-to-use and fully customizable home monitoring and security solution, right out of the box.
"Home Monitoring from Bell is a powerful home security service that’s ready to go as soon as a consumer takes it home – and it’s now widely available through Canada’s largest consumer electronics retailer," said Jeff Crews, vice-president and general manager, Bell Monitoring Services.
From a personal, secure web site, clients can customize their service by deciding what they want to be alerted about, and who should receive alerts and how – whether by phone, e-mail or text message. In addition to self-monitoring, clients can also opt for round-the-clock monitoring by dedicated professionals.
The Home Monitoring Starter Kit retails for $200 and includes a base unit, two door/window sensors, a motion detector and a remote keypad. A variety of optional equipment is available, including video cameras, key fobs, additional motion detectors and sensors, water and smoke detectors.
Monthly service charges vary based on the level of monitoring chosen: Home Monitoring starts at $19.95 per month, professional monitoring services are an additional $5 per month, and video monitoring is $7.95 per month.
