Bell rolls out HD service for hotels

MONTREAL – Bell has launched a platform designed to allow hotels to offer high definition television to guests in the comfort of their rooms.

The in-room satellite-powered HD television will run from a centralized control room, doing away with the need for individual receivers in each room. The result is simplified hotel operations, more attractive room aesthetics, and the elimination of the problem of the theft of in-room HD receivers, all while providing video on demand compatibility, Bell said in a press release.

“Bell is proud to offer hotels a unique solution that solves the challenges they face in delivering HD television directly to their guests across Canada,” said Kevin Crull, president of Bell residential services, in the release. “With Bell TV, hotel guests get access to Canada’s best HD television service, featuring the most HD channels and stunning picture quality, making their stay even more enjoyable.”

Marriott Hotels has signed on to the Bell TV service for use in eight locations nationally.
