TORONTO – Bell Media is throwing its marketing might behind its revamped Crave streaming service with a multi-platform national marketing campaign highlighted by big content like Game Of Thrones, Ray Donovan, and Wonder Woman.

The campaign dropped Monday with on-air promos airing nationally, plus billboards in cities including Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, and Calgary.  Beginning November 23, Crave promos will also be featured amongst the movie trailers in more than 50 theatres across the country, including Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

The broadcaster said that its print, online, and on-air campaigns focus on comedic “content-mashups” that tie different titles together with one theme, such as “Women” – featuring the other woman from The Affair, the wonder woman in Wonder Woman, and the women in red from The Handmaid’s Tale, and “Relationships” which looks at breakups (Divorce), make-ups (The Greatest Showman), and hook-ups (The Shape of Water). In Toronto on November 15, viewers may check in to the Crave Hotel (a.k.a. the Broadview Hotel – pictured) for a shareable experience that provides a taste of the exclusive and original programming available through the service. Rooms and spaces inside the Crave Hotel will include:

  • Westworld: step into the headquarters of the Delos Corporation and the Westworld Saloon and witness the robot ‘hosts’ in action.
  • Game Of Thrones: guests travel to Westeros to visit Cersei’s map room and take their place on the iron throne.
  • Letterkenny: pull up a chair at the Letterkenny produce stand and step inside the locker room of the Letterkenny Shamrocks.
  • The Shape of Water: enter a recreation of Eliza’s apartment to discover the amphibian friend she’s been keeping secret in her bathtub

Beginning November 19, Crave will take over Toronto’s Union Station with an out-of-home activation that includes posters, murals, screens, wrapped stairways and pillars, as well as video screens showcasing the new creative and content. A transit shelter takeover will also blanket more than 900 bus shelters in Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Victoria.

Bell Media added that iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV customers may subscribe directly to Crave via an in-app purchase.  From now through December 10, first-time customers may receive 50% off for the first four months with a monthly subscription, or receive additional savings when signing up for an annual plan (i.e. 12 months for the price of nine).
