Bell MTS launches 3 Gbps symmetrical internet service in Manitoba

WINNIPEG – Bell MTS announced Tuesday the launch of Gigabit Fibe 3.0 in Manitoba — what the company says is the fastest internet service in the province — with symmetrical download and upload speeds of 3 Gbps.

Bell MTS Gigabit Fibe 3.0 service comes with the new Giga Hub, which works with Bell MTS Wi-Fi 6E pods to create a seamless Wi-Fi network covering every room in a customer’s home, says a press release. Bell MTS is the first internet service provider to offer Wi-Fi 6E pods in Manitoba, according to the release.

“Unlimited pure fibre Internet providing three gigabits per second is now available in eligible areas of Manitoba,” the release says. “This latest boost in Internet speeds is enabled by Bell MTS’s accelerated network expansion program, bringing all-fibre connections to more than 30 communities throughout Manitoba.”

Bell MTS Gigabit Fibe 3.0’s download speed is two times faster than what was available before, and its upload speed is 20 times faster than that offered by any other major Winnipeg internet service provider, according to the release.

“Today marks an important connectivity milestone for Bell MTS, as we bring more advanced technologies and services offered by Bell in other regions across the country to Manitoba,” Paul Norris, vice-president of consumer sales and vice-chair of Bell MTS and Western Canada, said in the release.

“As we continue growing our fibre network in communities large and small throughout the province, we are thrilled that Manitobans will now have access to the latest and fastest fibre Internet solutions to enhance the way they learn, work, and play in a rapidly evolving digital world.”
