Bell Mobility may face $100M class action suit over pre-paid wireless

TORONTO – BCE and Bell Mobility could be hit by a $100-million class action lawsuit over expiry dates on its pre-paid wireless services. According to a Canadian Press report, the lawsuit claims that pre-paid wireless services payments are “gift cards” as defined by Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, and therefore expiry dates are illegal. The suit is being handed by the Toronto-based law firm of Sack Goldblatt Mitchell LLP on behalf of Celia Sankar of Elliot Lake, ON.
