MONTREAL – Bell Mobility is offering customers their own messaging service available over the company’s LTE network.

Billed as Canada's first integrated Rich Communications Services messaging experience, Bell Advanced Messaging allows for messages of up to 8000 characters, group chats with up to 100 participants, and a unified inbox that merges all texts, picture/video messaging and advanced messaging into one conversation history.

Bell customers with Samsung Note8, Galaxy S8 and S8+ mobile devices are the first to be able use Advanced Messaging. More smartphones will be enabled with Advanced Messaging in future, and Bell pledged to continue to enhance the service with new features.

Standard text/video/picture message rates apply when using the chat message or file transfer features.  Chat messages sent or received count against the user’s rate plan or add-on, or at pay-per-use rates as applicable.

"As the first integrated RCS product available in Canada, Bell Advanced Messaging takes the standard mobile carrier messaging experience to the next level with powerful new features like group chat, high-res photo sharing, read receipts and much more," said Bell’s VP products and services Nauby Jacob, in the news release.  "We're proud to partner with Samsung to bring our customers this Canadian first on the country's fastest ranked mobile network and the first in North America to offer full Quad Band LTE data speeds."
