TORONTO – Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund wrapped up its fiscal year after supporting 94 Canadian film projects through its Script Development Program, representing an investment of more than $1 million.

The Script Development program supports Canadian films through all stages, from story optioning and first and second drafts, to third drafts, and polish and packaging.

Recent projects include: Summer With Hope, director Sadaf Foroughi’s follow-up to her acclaimed 2017 film Ava; Light Years, the next feature from Sarah Rotella and Adrianna DiLonardo (Almost Adults); We’re All In This Together, director Katie Boland’s feature directorial debut based on the novel by Amy Jones; Lord Only Knows I’m Gone, Winnipeg auteur Deco Dawson’s first feature film; Calorie, the sophomore feature from director Eisha Marjara (Venus); and North of Normal, a new project from The New Romantic director Carly Stone.

These titles join films such as: My Salinger Year, from Oscar-nominated director Phillipe Falardeau; Clement Virgo’s How Black Mothers Say I Love You; Cam Baby, from director Nathan Morlando; and Come Home Year, the latest screenplay from Mary Walsh.

A full list of projects supported for 2017/18 can be found here.

“We’re proud to lend ongoing support to Canada’s emerging filmmakers as they develop their voices, and celebrate the latest works of established talent like Clement Virgo, Phillipe Falardeau, and Sherry White,” said John Galway, the Fund’s English-language program president, in the news release. “We can’t wait to see these projects on the big screen for audiences to enjoy.”
