TORONTO — Having raised $445,000 for the Canadian Red Cross already as a result of its Sunday night broadcast on Much, MTV, CP24 and iHeartRadio Canada, Bell Media’s iHeart Living Room Concert hosted by Elton John will be rebroadcast on CTV and VRAK this weekend.
The encore presentations of the benefit concert will air on CTV on Saturday, April 4 at 8 p.m. ET, and on VRAK on Sunday, April 5 at 8 p.m. ET. VRAK is a French-language specialty channel for kids owned by Bell Media. The benefit special is streaming now on demand on CTV.ca and Crave.
Airing commercial free, the concert will once again support the Canadian Red Cross’ Covid-19 and other disaster response efforts. Canadians can continue to donate through the end of April by SMS, toll-free telephone and online. See the news release for more details about how to donate.
“We are thankful for the generous support of Canadians during this challenging time,” said Melanie Soler, vice-president of emergency management for Canadian Red Cross, in the news release. “These funds will allow the Red Cross to provide comfort and care to individuals and families as needs across the country emerge during the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to helping people who may also be impacted during the upcoming flood and wildfire seasons.”
In addition to Elton John, the benefit event featured performances by Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, Dave Grohl, H.E.R., Mariah Carey, Sam Smith, Tim McGraw and more, from their own homes. It was organized by Bell’s American business partner iHeartRadio.
Also appearing to provide inspirational messages were Ciara and Russell Wilson, Demi Lovato, Ellen DeGeneres, Ken Jeong, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone and Ryan Seacrest. The benefit special paid tribute to the front-line health professionals, first responders and local heroes who are putting their lives in harm’s way during the Covid-19 pandemic.
