TORONTO – Bell Media launched a new automotive portal Wednesday aimed at everyone from first-time car buyers to auto enthusiasts.
Autofocus.ca, and its French-language counterpart, Fr.Autofocus.ca, features research tools, reviews from auto experts as well as users, and other resources to help consumers with their car purchase.
The site also offers car buying tips and tricks, in-depth coverage of all major auto shows, consumer reports, and leasing and financing guides.
“Not every car buyer makes a purchase with the same level of knowledge or experience.With this in mind, Bell Media set out to build an automotive resource that offers a tailored car shopping experience with a best-in-class user interface,” said Catherine MacLeod, senior VP of specialty channels for Bell Media, in a release.
Autofocus is the newest addition to Bell’s automotive vertical that includes content on TheLoop.ca and Sympatico.ca sites. Site sections include:
- Shop for a Vehicle: Easy-to-use tools simplify the shopping process, enabling users to build their own “garage” profile. Vehicles are recommended based on a selection of generalized profiles allowing visitors to shop for a new or used car by make, type, and/or price. Content and promotions can be suggested to users based on their interest and other interaction on the site.
- Reviews: With dedicated teams for both the French and English sites, Autofocus features expert and user reviews from Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) award-winning contributors and auto writers Jil McIntosh, Antoine Joubert, Matt Bubbers, Nadine Filion, Benoit Charette, Daniel Rufiange, and Howard Elmer.
- How To: From car care to the latest recalls on the market, to tips and tricks, to buying new, used, or environmentally friendly vehicles. Technology, finance, insurance, and safety guides from industry professionals are also featured.
- News and Events: includes the latest news stemming from the automotive world and in-depth coverage of all major auto shows around the world including the Canadian International Auto Show and New York International Auto Show.
- Photos and Videos: high-definition photos and video galleries, with content tags and related content modules allow users to find similar content and follow their interests.
