TORONTO – Bell Media Radio Sales (BMRS) Said Wednesday that effective immediately it will begin national representation of independent radio station Hot 107 (CJNW) in Edmonton, Alberta.
Hot 107 began broadcasting almost two years ago, targeting 12 to 44-year-old Edmontonians with a music-intensive format and limited commercial play, and featuring artists like Black Eyed Peas, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, David Guetta and Lil’ Wayne. Shortly after launching, it was named "Best FM in North America" by Sean Ross, former editor of Billboard magazine.
"We are pleased to have BMRS represent our station nationally," said John Yerxa, local Edmontonian and owner of Hot 107. "With their existing knowledge of the Edmonton radio landscape and proven track record of national sales results, we are confident Hot 107 will be very well positioned to national advertisers."
With many Bell Media radio stations having a similar format to Hot 107 and being leaders in their respective markets, we clearly recognized the value of this station and are excited to once again have a strong station to promote in the vibrant and growing Edmonton marketplace," said Breydon MacDonald, General Manager for BMRS.
Hot 107 broadcasts from its storefront studio in the West Edmonton Mall and covers the entire Edmonton CMA and its surrounding communities.
