TORONTO – Bell Media has tapped advertising executive Stuart Garvie as its new president of Bell Media Sales, effective June 8.
Garvie, pictured, will assume the responsibilities of Mary Ann Turcke who was promoted to president of Bell Media last month following the departure of Kevin Crull. In this role, Garvie will oversee the leadership and strategic direction of Bell Media’s national advertising sales across all platforms, namely conventional and specialty TV, radio, out-of-home, and digital, reads Tuesday’s announcement. He will be based at Toronto's 50 Eglinton office and will be a member of Bell Media’s senior leadership team.
Before joining Bell Media, Garvie was the chief commercial officer for GroupM Canada, a role in which he controlled and negotiated a $2 billion advertising budget across four of Canada’s largest advertising agencies. Prior to that, he held management positions in global media agencies.
“Stuart is an industry visionary and I am thrilled to welcome him to Bell Media. I am confident that we will benefit from his extensive experience and ground-breaking approach to media and advertising both in Canada and internationally,” said Bell Media president Mary Ann Turcke, in the announcement. “Supported by the best sales team in the business, Stuart is primed to leverage Bell Media’s portfolio of properties and reinforce our unwavering commitment to our clients and partners.”
“It is with great pride that I join Canada’s premier media company,” added Garvie. “I look forward to building on Bell Media’s industry leadership and implementing new strategies to consolidate our position as the #1 partner of national advertisers across Canada.”
