Bell Media launches 10 ad-supported channels


Bell Media announced Thursday the launch of 7 English-language and three French-language free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels that it says will provide a wide variety of content for consumers while simultaneously providing dynamic advertising opportunities for its clients.

The English channels are CTV News; TSN The Ocho for sports; lifestyle programs from CTV at Home; the Corner Gas Channel, which includes the sitcom as well as Corner Gas Animated; CTV Gridlock, which includes Highway Thru Hell and Heavy Rescue: 401; CTV Laughs, which includes comedy features; and the Mightiest by CTV, which follows the voyages of large machines like ships, trains and planes.

French channels are Noovo télé-réalités, which broadcasts popular reality shows from Quebec and abroad; Noovo cinema, which offers a wide selection of films, from romantic comedies to thrillers; and Noovo comedies.

“With the debut of our FAST channels, Bell Media is once again growing and deepening relationships with our audience by taking compelling stories to Canadian consumers wherever they are,” Sean Cohan, president of Bell Media, said in a press release. “We’re thrilled to partner with FAST platforms to offer new opportunities to advertising partners to engage their target audiences, drive outcomes, and measure campaign success.”

The channels are available through LG Channels and, soon, via Samsung TV Plus channel guides.
