Bell Media has invested in Los Angeles-based Daylight Media and its podcast network, QCode, according to a report Tuesday from Deadline.
The investment was made through Bell Ventures, Bell’s corporate venture capital arm, and includes a commercial partnership that will see the two companies team on original content development, as well as marketing and distribution initiatives, according to the report. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The reported investment appears to be confirmed in a LinkedIn post by Jonas Nwuke, vice president of strategy, planning and partnerships at Bell Media, who wrote Wednesday: “I’ve been a fan of Daylight Media/QCODE since Blackout season 1. Fast forward to today and I couldn’t be more excited to work directly with Rob Herting, Ben Curtis, William Navarre, Steve Wilson and the entire team to bring more thrilling/scary/funny/heartfelt/epic stories to the world.”
Herting, Curtis and Wilson are Daylight Media’s CEO, president, and chief strategy officer, respectively. Navarre is a Los Angeles-based strategic consultant for the media and entertainment industry.
Matt McGowan, senior vice president of business solutions at Bell Media, also posted news of the investment on LinkedIn.
In addition to Blackout, which stars award-winning actor Rami Malek, QCode’s slate of premium scripted audio series include Dirty Diana (starring Demi Moore) and Ad Lucem (with Olivia Wilde and Chris Pine).
