Bell Media announces new docuseries Présumé innocent: L’affaire France Alain

MONTREAL – Bell Media announced today the new four-part documentary Présumé innocent: L’affaire France Alain (Alleged Innocent: The France Alain Case) will be broadcast this fall on Crave and Canal D.

Hosts Sébastien Trundel (above, left) and Marie-Claude Savard (right), (the hosts of Présumé innocent: L’affaire Michelle Perron), “will immerse themselves in the ins and outs of a crime committed almost 40 years ago,” an English translation of a French press release says.

“France Alain was murdered one evening in October 1982 in Sainte-Foy. Committed for no apparent reason, this murder not only lost the life of a 21-year-old aspiring engineer, but changed the daily lives of his loved ones and also that of Benoît Proulx. A star animator of the time, Benoît Proulx had briefly frequented France Alain before his death. He was considered the main suspect four years after the events. Convicted in 1991, then acquitted in 1992, Benoît Proulx suffered the repercussions of this case throughout his life,” the press release explains.

Présumé innocent: L’affaire France Alain is directed by Sébastien Trahan and produced by Trinôme & Filles in collaboration with Bell Media.
