Bell Media and iHeartMedia expand partnership

Bell Media and iHeartMedia have agreed to a long-term extension of an exclusive partnership that dates back to the digital audio platform’s launch in 2016.

The extension, announced Friday, will see Bell represent iHeartRadio’s podcast portfolio, “creating new opportunities for advertisers to reach Canadian listeners.”

A Bell spokesperson told Cartt the company does not comment on term lengths or terms.

The iHeartRadio app also has some new features, including the ability to save up to 15 presets; a scan ability that allows listeners to sample and discover new stations; a discovery feature that shows trending audio podcasts, playlists or stations; and the display of lyrics for the song currently playing on live radio.

“In the years to come, we’ll continue expanding iHeartRadio Canada with innovative features, exclusive content, and unique opportunities for brands to connect and engage with audiences across the country,” Michael Biondo, iHeartMedia’s president of business development and strategic partnerships, said in a press release.
