MONTREAL – Bell has unveiled what it says is the world's first fully wireless IPTV service plus a powerful new home Wi-Fi service.
The Home Hub 3000 modem/router offers broad and reliable coverage throughout the home, with 12 antennas, total throughput capability of up to 1 Gigabit, automatic channel switching for reduced interference, and tri-band technology supporting multiple connected devices including smartphones, tablets and game consoles, the company said Monday. It also offers an easy-to-use web interface to manage Wi-Fi access and settings, and battery back-up that enables customers to use Fibe Internet during a power outage for up to four hours.
The Wireless 4K Whole Home PVR from Fibe TV can easily locate Fibe TV anywhere in the home, plus features 4K quality, up to 150 hours of 4K recording capacity and Bluetooth remote that enables out-of-sight positioning of the PVR. Integrated access to Netflix in 4K will be available this fall.
"Bell has taken the leadership position in Canadian broadband communications with a strategy of unparalleled investment in advanced networks and continuous Fibe TV and Fibe Internet service innovation," said Rizwan Jamal, president of Bell residential and small business services, in the news release. "Our team is proud to deliver the latest Bell TV and Internet exclusives that take full advantage of the power of the Fibe network to our residential customers."
