Bell announced Wednesday the launch of Bell On-Demand Network, a self-serve digital platform that enables business customers to autonomously order, activate, scale and manage network services in real time, helping them to respond more quickly to evolving business needs.
Built on Bell’s fibre network and powered by Cisco infrastructure, Bell On-Demand Network is a network-as-a-service (NaaS) platform aligned with the seven NaaS customer experience attributes identified by Mplify, a global alliance advancing NaaS for AI and AI-ready digital infrastructure.
“By delivering on these seven attributes — on-demand, observable, manageable, programmable, secure, modular and flexible — Bell On-Demand Network gives customers greater visibility, control and agility over their connectivity,” a Bell press release reads.
The platform’s initial offering, On-Demand Internet, is available in Ontario and Quebec wherever fibre has been deployed, Bell said, adding that additional networking, security, cloud connectivity and automation capabilities are planned over time.
“Customers increasingly expect the same simplicity, flexibility and control from their network services that they experience in other aspects of the business. Bell On-Demand Network helps meet those expectations through a modern digital experience that makes it easier to manage connectivity as business needs evolve,” Costa Pantazopoulos, senior vice president of enterprise solutions at Bell, said in the press release. “This launch reflects our commitment to putting customers first while continuing to modernize service delivery, helping organizations move faster and accomplish more.”
“Organizations are increasingly looking for network infrastructure that can deliver the agility and simplicity they experience with cloud services. Cisco 8000 Series Secure Router plays a key role in making that possible, providing the automated, secure connectivity that today’s businesses expect,” Cherif Gress, chief technology officer at Cisco Canada, said in a statement. “We are pleased to support Bell as it brings Bell On-Demand Network to market, helping Canadian businesses benefit from a more automated and flexible approach to connectivity.”
