Bell intros hosts for its exclusive Quibi content



TORONTO — Bell Media revealed Tuesday more information about the exclusive Canadian programming it’s producing for Quibi’s mobile video streaming service, including who will be hosting its daily news and sports news programs when the streamer launches April 6.

As part of the previously announced partnership with Quibi, Bell Media is the exclusive Canadian news and sports news provider for the mobile-first platform. Produced by Bell Media’s CTV News and TSN, the three exclusive daily programs being launched on Quibi are Newsday by CTV News, Newsnight by CTV News and Sports AM by TSN.

Newsday by CTV News will be hosted by Heather Butts (pictured second from left) and Newsnight by CTV News will be hosted by Reshmi Nair (pictured first on left). New episodes of the daily news programs will be available for streaming on Quibi every weekday morning by 6:30 a.m. ET, every weekday evening by 5 p.m. ET, and weekend mornings by 9 a.m. ET. The programs will cover important news stories and the biggest headlines of the day, both in Canada and around the world. In keeping with Quibi’s “Quick Bites” format, the daily news programs will deliver digestible updates of the news that matters most, from politics and business to health and climate change.

TSN’s Kayla Grey and Lindsay Hamilton (pictured third and fourth from left, respectively) have been confirmed as hosts of Sports AM by TSN. Hosted by Hamilton during the week and by Grey on weekends, Sports AM by TSN daily episodes will be available for streaming at 6:30 a.m. ET on weekdays and 9 a.m. ET on weekends. The sports news program will pack the most buzzed-about and essential sports stories from the around the world into three-minute daily episodes, says the news release.
