TORONTO – The Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund has awarded production grants to 36 projects and development grants to three more. It also awarded professional development funding to Whistler Film Summit Media Lab, Merging + Media Toronto, and NUMIX 2012.
The Bell Fund provides grants to Canadian independent producers who develop and produce television content complemented and enhanced by digital content designed for various platforms.
Administered by the Independent Production Fund, the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund receives annual contributions of approximately $13 million from Bell TV as part of its contributions to the industry, while the Development Program is supported by the interest generated by a $10 million endowment resulting from BCE-CTV benefits, and contributions from Aliant.
