Bell exec goes to non-profit

TORONTO – The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada announced that former Bell Canada executive Josée Goulet has signed on as its president and CEO.

Goulet had worked for Bell in Quebec for over 20 years as president and CEO of Yellow Pages, president of Bell Quebec and Chief of Marketing Services, Bell Canada.

In her new position, Goulet’s ultimate objective is to raise the profile of the organization in Canada.

"We are so pleased that Josée has decided to enter the non-profit arena and lead JDRF’s overall business strategy," said Aubrey Baillie, chairman of JDRF Board of Directors. "As JDRF continues to translate basic research breakthroughs into cure therapies such as experimentation in islet transplantation, beta cell regeneration and diabetes prevention, Josée’s extensive business background and expertise will allow us to increase the visibility of our organization and continue to build on the fundraising efforts essential for growing our bold and significant research program."

Goulet has previously worked with The United Way, the Women’s Y Foundation, and the Ste Justine Children Hospital. She sits on the boards of the Alimentation Couche-Tard, Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, and the Canadian Air Transport Security Agency (CATSA) and was a board member of Kids Help Phone. In 2005 Goulet chaired the annual luncheon of the Fondation Québécoise du Cancer on the occasion of the foundation’s 25th anniversary.
