Bell cuts staff in Hamilton and Kingston

MONTREAL – Bell Canada eliminated a total of 471 positions last week as part of its ongoing, and previously announced, downsizing.In Kingston, the company is closing one of its 310-BELL call centres, throwing 256 people out of work and in Hamilton, it's shuttering a credit services office. Call centres in Ottawa, Mississauga, Scarborough, London and Hamilton will pick up the call volume from the closing Kingston centre.
