Bell brings IPTV to Toronto, Montreal this summer

TORONTO – BCE’s George Cope wants to make Bell Canada the largest TV provider in Canada within the next five years.Speaking to the Canadian Club in downtown Toronto on Tuesday, Cope confirmed his company’s plan to launch its long-awaited IPTV product in the Toronto and Montreal markets this summer. He also said that the company would undertake capital expenditures of approximately $2.5 billion this year, plus invest an additional $140 million “in direct customer service enhancements”. Bell recently announced new high-speed fibre initiatives, including a significant fibre-to-the-home rollout in Québec City, and upgrades to its Bell Internet product.www.bell.ca
