MONTREAL – Bell said Wednesday that it has expanded its 4G LTE wireless network to 120 more small communities across Quebec and Ontario.

The company said that it will be employing its new 700 MHz spectrum and other spectrum assets to deliver LTE services to more small towns and rural communities across Canada, including the North.  Bell is also expanding LTE in and around a number of cities and towns where service has already been launched, including Peterborough, Maitland and North Bay in Ontario, and Rigaud, Saint-Alexandre-D'Iberville and Sainte-Julie in Québec.

"Bell is proud to offer consumers and businesses everywhere the benefits of high quality, high bandwidth mobile data access made possible by LTE," said Bell Mobility president Wade Oosterman, in the news release.  "From Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière to Grafton, Pickle Lake to Bromont, customers can now access the same great broadband service and mobile applications as customers in major centres across Canada. For people living, working or travelling in rural Québec and Ontario, wireless just got better."

Bell's LTE network already covers 86% of the national population, and the company said that it plans to expand that reach to more than 98% of Canadians this year.
