Bell board brings on new director with e-commerce, tech background

Bell’s board last week announced the appointment of Rebecca McKillican as one of its directors steps down.

McKillican served as chief executive officer of healthcare company McKesson Canada from 2020 to 2023. She joined after McKesson acquired health and wellness e-commerce giant Well.ca, where she was CEO from 2013 to 2019.

She also serves on the board of National Bank of Canada, where she chairs the technology committee and sits on the human resources committee.

“Rebecca has a wealth of leadership experience and she’ll be an outstanding addition to the BCE Board of Directors,” Bell CEO Mirko Bibic said in a release. “Her background in technology and driving operational excellence will bring new perspectives to BCE and help drive growth at Bell.”

Bell said Katherine Lee is stepping down after 11 years as director on the board. She was a member of the audit committee and corporate governance committee.

Board terms at Bell are typically over a 12-year period “so that the Board composition achieves the balance between depth of institutional experience and the need for renewal and new perspectives on the Board,” the release said.
