Bell Aliant’s FTTH rollout continues in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX – Bell Aliant has rolled out its fibre-to-the-home network in New Glasgow and Annapolis Valley, offering an additional 27,000 customers access to FibreOP.

The additional $13 million investment brings the company’s overall FibreOP investment in the province to more than $83 million.

"We are investing significantly in this network and our FibreOP services in the province so that customers can experience Internet and TV to their full potential, whether it’s for a school project, working from home or pure entertainment," said Kelly Duplisea, vice-president of FibreOP and TV, in the announcement. "FibreOP services and bundles not only provide the fastest Internet upload and download speeds available, but now include the best in-market TV product available for customers in these communities."

The first customers in New Glasgow will come on-line later this month, including areas of Trenton, Westville, Stellarton and Pictou. Services will follow in areas of the Annapolis Valley, including Windsor, Wolfville, Kentville and New Minas beginning in the fall.
