Bell Aliant profit/revenue falls – counting on FTTH to drive earnings in 2013

HALIFAX - Bell Aliant blames restructuring charges for fourth quarter net income dropping $10 million to $70.3 million from the same period of 2011. Operating revenue also fell 0.8% to $694.8 million due to a decline in local and long distance revenues. Analysts were expecting revenues of $697.1 million for the regional telecom. In 2013 the company expects to spend less on capital expenditures which it says should keep profit and revenues at about the same levels as 2012.
