Bell Aliant helps needy kids get ready for school

HALIFAX - Bell Aliant employees and volunteers have delivered over 3,100 backpacks filled with school supplies to needy children in communities throughout Atlantic Canada, Ontario and Quebec.The annual ‘Backpacks for Kids’ program has filled and distributed 12,000 backpacks since it began in 2003. “The success of the ‘Backpacks for Kids’ program demonstrates the commitment of our employees, retirees and Pioneer Volunteers to their communities,” said president and CEO Karen Sheriff, in the press release. “It is through their generous effort that thousands of children will start their school year on an equal footing with their classmates.”www.bellaliant.ca
