YARMOUTH, NS – Bell Aliant said Thursday that it is bringing its fibre-to-the home (FTTH) network FibreOP to the 5,000 homes and businesses in Yarmouth.
"FibreOP is the only 100 per cent fibre optic network that goes straight to a customer's home and delivers up to 250 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload – the fastest download and upload Internet speeds available in the market today," said Andre LeBlanc, VP residential product, in the announcement. "We are excited to offer our Yarmouth area customers the FibreOP experience – it is truly changing how customers connect, communicate and watch TV."
Bell Aliant said that the expansion cost $2.6 million, and that by the end of 2012, it will have invested approximately half a billion dollars to extend FibreOP to approximately 650,000 homes and businesses in its territory.
