Bell Aliant debuts fibre optic network

FREDERICTON, NB – Bell Aliant’s new fibre optic network FibreOP is up and running in areas of Fredericton.

Residential customers can now choose from options such as Internet services featuring speeds of up to 35Mbps download with 10Mbps upload, or digital TV including HD and PVR capabilities.

“Bell Aliant will be the first in Canada to cover an entire city with fibre to the home (FTTH) technology, and bring a 100% fibre optic network directly to customers’ homes,” said Heather Tulk, SVP of customer solutions, in the press release. “These services will deliver the fastest Internet and video sharing available in New Brunswick, the ultimate high definition TV experience, and the best customer service experience.”

FibreOP services will continue to be rolled out to the remainder of Fredericton and Saint John by the middle of next year. They can be purchased alone, or bundled with other telecommunications and entertainment services.
