Bell Aliant brings FibreOp to more NB communities

BOUCTOUCHE, NB – Bell Aliant will expand its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network to 4,177 homes and businesses in Kent County, NB.

Customers in Bouctouche, Richibucto and Saint-Antoine can pre-register now for installations later this fall.  Since 2009, the company has invested $122 million in New Brunswick to bring its FibreOp technology to 230,000 homes and businesses.

"With today's announcement, thousands more New Brunswickers will have access to the power of FibreOP," said Andre LeBlanc, VP of residential markets, in the news release.  "Everywhere we go with this technology, customers tell us the same thing: it's a game changer that delivers the fastest Internet and best TV experience with limitless potential for the future. As we turn on this service in more and more communities, we get closer to our goal of reaching one million premises by the end of 2014 with our innovative FTTH network."

FibreOp is available to more than 879,000 homes and businesses in 89 communities across Atlantic Canada, Ontario and Quebec.
