Now carried by all major TV providers in Canada
TORONTO — beIN Sports has announced a new distribution deal with Shaw Communications that makes the global sports network available to all Shaw Cable and Shaw Direct Satellite TV customers.
Known for its live coverage of the top soccer leagues from around the world, beIN Sports is making its Shaw Cable debut just in time for the start of the top European soccer leagues — Spain’s La Liga, Italy’s Serie A, France’s Ligue 1 and England’s Sky Bet Championship.
beIN Sports, which provides exclusive Canadian coverage of top international sporting events, such as UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, has been available to Shaw Direct customers since 2015.
With this latest partnership with Shaw Cable, beIN Sports is now available across all major television service providers in Canada, beIN Sports said in a press release to be issued Thursday morning.
“There has been a tremendous demand for beIN Sports from Shaw Cable customers,” said Antonio Briceño, beIN Sports deputy managing director, in the press release. “It is wonderful to have Shaw Cable’s dedicated soccer fans along for all of the excitement surrounding the European soccer season.”
beIN Sports’ programming schedule also features FIFA World Cup qualifiers, international rugby, college football and basketball, along with world-class motorcycle racing.
“We are thrilled that Shaw Cable customers now have access to beIN Sports’ incredible slate of top international events,” said Slava Levin, co-founder and CEO of Ethnic Channels Group Limited, distributor of beIN Sports in Canada. “beIN Sports is the only destination in Canada to watch powerhouse teams like Real Madrid, Juventus and RC Barcelona.”
beIN Sports is now available to Shaw Cable customers on a free preview until September 30, 2017. It is available to Shaw Cable subscribers on channel 234 and to Shaw Cable customers with BlueSky TV on channel 231.
