TORONTO – Beanfield Metroconnect has moved in to the Concord CityPlace condominiums in downtown Toronto, taking over residents’ Internet and home phone services from Telus.

CityPlace is a 44-acre site consisting of 24 condo buildings with approximately 9,200 units.  The Toronto-based independent telco said Wednesday that the process of replacing the existing infrastructure with its new fibre is underway, with full roll-out to all condo buildings scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer. The Beanfield fibre-optic network will be delivered to each individual suite.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our services to the residents of CityPlace,” said Beanfield president Chris Amendola in the news release. “Tenants of CityPlace have been requesting our services in their buildings for a very long time. It’s a great feeling to finally be able to give them the choice they deserve.”

Founded in 1988, Beanfield is a privately held, Canadian-owned company that owns and operates the largest private fibre optic network throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, specializing in fibre optic Internet, business and home phone, TV services, colocation, transparent Lan, dark fibre and broadcast services.
