TORONTO – BBC Earth Canada is gearing up to bring viewers a stunning four-part live broadcast event, known as Blue Planet Live, starting this Sunday.
Airing during the channel’s free preview, the event will see three BBC presenters go live from three different international locations – including the U.S. East Coast, the Bahamas, and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, to provide a first-hand look at the challenges marine life face today.
Across all four episodes, the hosts will be up close with a number of marine animals that breed and feed at this time of year, including different species of turtles, sharks, and whales. Additionally, the series explores the last oceanic frontier that is ‘The Deep’, live for the first time on television.
Airing day and date with BBC One’s live UK broadcast, the Blue Planet Live broadcast schedule is:
– Part one airs Sunday, March 24 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT;
– Part two airs Wednesday, March 27 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT;
– Part three airs Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT; and
– Part four airs Sunday, March 31 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT
“The Blue Planet Live broadcast, like all signature BBC Earth content, is sure to spark global conversation about the health of our oceans,” said Blue Ant Media Canadian Media president Jamie Schouela, in the news release. “The mini-series is the perfect way to give audiences one last chance to sample the channel before our free preview concludes at the end of March.”
