TORONTO – Baylin Technologies has expanded its product portfolio in the Outdoor DAS and Small Cell marketplace after receiving approval of its new 12 port, quad band small cell antenna by an unnamed tier one North American carrier.

The company’s newly formed R&D team in Ottawa developed the antenna, which covers standard wireless bands as well as CBRS and LAA bands.  Baylin added that the design was completed ahead of schedule and it has now been fully approved for use in the carriers' network.

The antenna is expected to start shipping in Q1 2018.

“The Pseudo Omni Canister Antenna for Outdoor DAS and Small Cell applications is one of the first North American designed antennas of this complexity to be approved for use”, said Baylin CEO Randy Dewey, in the news release.  "This quad band antenna will be one of the highest performing small cell antennas in North America in 2018."
