Barrett Xplore switches on 4G network in Quebec

WOODSTOCK, NB – Barrett Xplore has signed up the first customers for its 4G network after going live in Quebec on Tuesday.Under the Xplornet brand, the company’s network currently covers the 8,500 square kilometre area from Bas St. Laurent to the New Brunswick border in Quebec.  The company said that it will create Canada's first national 4G network by leveraging its hybrid terrestrial and satellite network.  The terrestrial wireless network, which will comprise about 1200 towers, will be capable of speeds of 40 Mbps improving to over 100 Mbps by next year."It took the effort and talent of the best telecom...
