Banff World Television Festival to honour Feore

TORONTO – Canadian actor Colm Feore will be presented with the NBC Universal Canada Award of Distinction at the upcoming Banff World Television Festival, fete organizers announced Thursday. The award will be presented at a special luncheon on Monday, June 11 during the festival, which runs June 10-13 at the Fairmont Banff Springs conference center.

The inaugural Award of Distinction was presented last year to Crash writer and director Paul Haggis.

Banff World Television Festival CEO Robert Montgomery said Feore’s prowess and versatility as an actor and his multiple successes in film, television and theatre made him the obvious choice for the award.

Organizers also announced that Feore will speak with Bon Cop Bad Cop producer Kevin Tierney in one of the festival’s “In Conversation” sessions. Feore co-starred in the film about a Quebec cop and Ontario cop having to work together to solve the murder of a victim found draped across a billboard – with his body half in each province.
