Bachman and Cummings to go into CAB Hall

OTTAWA – Canadian music legends Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings will be inducted into the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame at next month’s CAB annual convention in Winnipeg.

Bachman and Cummings (who are both from Winnipeg) will be inducted into the Music Star category at the Gold Ribbon Awards Gala on Tuesday, November 8th.

“We cannot think of a more fitting tribute to these immensely talented artists” said Rob Braide, chair of the CAB Board of Directors. “Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings have been instrumental to the success of the Canadian music industry, both at home and abroad. They truly represent the best that Canada has to offer. Canada’s private broadcasters are honoured to be celebrating their achievements at this year’s CAB Convention.”

With legendary careers in rock and roll music spanning almost 40 years, these Winnipeg natives have left an indelible mark on the Canadian and international music scenes. As principal songwriters of the Guess Who, and as individuals – Bachman with Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and Cummings with his tremendous solo career – the pair has been responsible for some of the greatest hits in the history of pop music song writing.
