MONTREAL – babyTEL claims its new iPhone and Android app, ROAMbaby App, can save users up to 80% off their cell phone bills. The app enables users to make-and-take calls over a smartphone’s 3G/4G or WiFi data connection throughout Canada, the U.S. and international locations. All calls are made via the babyTEL telephone network and don’t require cell minutes.
“Smart phone users can now travel anywhere with the peace of mind that they can keep in touch by phone with friends, family and business associates at an affordable and reasonable cost – just as if they were at home,” said Steve Dorsey, babyTEL CEO in a release.
For $9.95 per month, ROAMbaby users can select a local phone number anywhere in Canada and the U.S. and get 300 minutes of Canada/US long distance calling at no additional charge. The service also features low rates on international calls and free ROAMbaby to ROAMbaby calling.

BabyTEL says travellers can use ROAMbaby with any WiFi connection for low or no cost calling, anywhere in the world. Travellers who need complete mobility while travelling can add a mobile WiFi hotspot device. With it they can make low-cost calls over data using the ROAMbaby app at a fraction of the cost compared to most roaming data rates.
The app works with the existing iPhone or Android phone interface and also works on the iPad, iPod and Android tablet adding full telephone capability. Since all calls are made over data, the app has a built in WiFi/data connection test to ensure that users have a great calling experience says babyTel.
