TORONTO – Following on the heels of last week’s announcement of its new Sikh and South Asian youth channels, Asian Television Network International has launched two new channels from Star Network-India, a part of Fox International Channels.
ATN has obtained exclusive rights to Star Utsav and STAR Jalsha channels. Star Utsav will complement ATN’s five Hindi General Entertainment channels and Star Jalsha will complete ATN's four Bangla language channels from India and Bangladesh. ATN Star Utsav is a 24-hour Hindi general entertainment channel, with primetime programming that includes soap operas, comedies, reality shows, game shows, Bollywood Blockbusters and special events.
ATN STAR Jalsha is India’s leading Bengali general entertainment channel by Star TV and Fox International Channels networks. Based on the channel’s “Cholo Paltai” (“Let’s Change”) brand philosophy, Star Jalsha offers an array of programs in different genres.
The two new channels launched last week on Bell Fibe TV in Metro Toronto and Montreal, and will be available by free preview for 60 days. This latest acquisition brings ATN’s total of channels to 39.
