
TORONTO – Astral Television Networks has hired Stephen Green as vice president, sales and affiliate marketing.
Green will oversee the newly integrated affiliate sales and affiliate marketing departments and will be responsible for developing strategic marketing programs and sales plans "to achieve growth targets for The Movie Network, Family Channel, Mpix, Viewers Choice and GSN (Game Show Network) brands. Green will also administer affiliation agreements with key customers," says the company’s press release.

I am confident that under his leadership and guidance, our affiliate marketing and sales department will continue to implement strong acquisition and retention initiatives with our affiliates that will grow our mutual businesses," said Domenic Vivolo, senior vice-president, marketing and sales. "He will also ensure that these plans are targeted to our key affiliate consumers in order to effectively strengthen our broadcast brands."

Green (pictured) replaces Darrell Atherley, who left the company earlier this month, and comes to Astral after spending more than 15 years in a number of strategic roles. Most recently, he served as vice-president, sales (video games) for Entertainment One (formerly Standard Broadcasting Corporation/Video One Canada Ltd.). In addition to various consulting contracts, Green has held senior positions at Direct Source Special Products Inc. and Saturn Distributing Inc. Green began in the consumer packaged goods industry where he has served in marketing and sales capacities for Hershey Canada and Nabisco.
