Astral donates $3 million in ad time to charity

MONTREAL – Astral Media has met its goal of donating more than $3 million in advertising time to Dr. Clown, a Montreal-based non-profit, therapeutic clown organization. Astral launched the advertising campaign in July 2005, expecting to provide $3 million in free ads over three years. It reached its goal one year early. Astral has given away advertising on radio, television, and outdoor advertising; helped create two distinct ad campaigns (one designed by Allard Johnson, the other by Bos); raised more than $28,000 from its own employee donations; and aired a documentary about the charity on its Canal Vie French-language specialty...
