MONTREAL – Astral Media has met its goal of donating more than $3 million in advertising time to Dr. Clown, a Montreal-based non-profit, therapeutic clown organization.
Astral launched the advertising campaign in July 2005, expecting to provide $3 million in free ads over three years. It reached its goal one year early.
Astral has given away advertising on radio, television, and outdoor advertising; helped create two distinct ad campaigns (one designed by Allard Johnson, the other by Bos); raised more than $28,000 from its own employee donations; and aired a documentary about the charity on its Canal Vie French-language specialty network.
The exposure has helped the charity raise more money from the public and corporations, and it will be able to launch five new programs in Quebec City this fall.
“We are very pleased to have been able to assist Dr. Clown in expanding its visibility and drawing attention to the excellent work that they do with children and with the elderly,” said Alain Bergeron, Astral’s Vice-President, Brand Management and Corporate Communications. “We have had a very fruitful relationship with the organization.”
Dr. Clown brightens the lives of hospitalized patients through a professional therapeutic clown program that brings artists and patients together in an atmosphere of imagination and fun.
