MONTREAL – Astral Media Radio is bringing the worldwide radio brand ‘NRJ’ to Quebec next month.
Beginning August 24, the ten radio stations in Quebec that comprise Astral’s current ‘Energie’ network will become the NRJ network, after the company inked an agreement with the NRJ Group, the largest radio broadcasting group in France.
The partnership will offer listeners access to “exclusive content, interviews with international stars, tickets to concerts and international events” the press release reads, just by "staying tuned to Quebec’s largest radio network that supports local talent".
"Our listeners like to always be on top of new trends, they are solicited by all the new media and they have more and more choices”, said André Lallier, vice president of programming, in the announcement. “Astral Media Radio has that power to always stand out and direct its listeners to what’s hot".
The strength of the NRJ brand will also allow advertisers to “explore new creative paths and air fresh, wild, unorthodox concepts”, the release continued.
