TORONTO – The Toronto-based parent company of The Fight Network, announced Monday the acquisition of Mixed Martial Arts Expo.
As part of the purchase, MMA Expo president, Gerald Chopik, joins Fight Media Inc. as president of its new Events Division.
“MMA Expo will not only serve to diversify Fight Media’s revenue and profit streams, it will provide the Fight Network with an integrated sales solution to reach our advertisers’ targets that includes airtime, web and mobile from the Fight Network and now point of sale and further branding opportunities via MMA Expo,” said Leonard Asper, president and CEO of Fight Media, in a release.
“This will also provide fresh content for The Fight Network and opportunities to drive awareness of and subscriptions to the network.”
“We have worked closely with The Fight Network over the past five years and with both companies now under one roof, I am excited about the new products and services we can now offer the fight market,” said Chopik.
The Fight Network is Canada’s only TV channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, including fights, fighters, fight news, and fight lifestyle.
Mixed Martial Arts Expo is an interactive consumer show for people who love martial arts and the full contact sport of mixed martial arts. The interactive model includes martial arts tournaments and demonstrations, martial arts and business development seminars and a show floor filled with apparel, gear, fitness and nutrition-based exhibitors.
